why use a pet sitter?

A professional pet sitter has an obligation to care for your pet no matter what comes up. When you hire a professional pet sitter, you’re hiring someone who has made a life based on their commitment to the care of animals. Most professional pet sitters not only have pets of their own, they have an above average passion and interest for animals. A professional pet sitter understands your concerns as an owner and will care for your pet with the same love and care as they do for their own.

why do I need my dog walked when I have a big back yard?

A regular walking routine with your dog can result in a happy, healthy, confident and calm dog who is much less likely to exhibit behavioural problems and much easier to train. A dog who is not walked often could become anxious, bored, nervous, destructive or could exhibit any number of undesirable behaviours in an effort to fulfill their basic instinctual needs. Regular walking should be the first step in solving these issues.

why do you schedule a meet and greet?

The meet and greet is a chance for us to not only get to know your animals, but also you! Paws 'n' Play uses this time to assess the needs of our clients and get to know the animals we hope to be working with. Whether it’s walking your dog or visit/feed/play appointments, it’s very important that we customise a plan that meets your needs as well as your pets. This is the time we will arrange to pick up a key as well and go over initial client forms to get you started with our services!

do you walk in bad weather?

During light rain we will contact you to confirm if you would like us to go ahead with walking your dog so long as it is not dangerous and there is no lightning.

Otherwise, we will substitute a walk with an indoor play session as long as travel to and from your home is considered safe or we will get in touch with you to discuss rescheduling.

what if I need to cancel?

Any pet sitting service schedule adjustment must be received more than 24 hours from the first scheduled visit to avoid full payment. We are happy to extend a credit for the value of days not used if contacted within 48 hours prior to service.

Where a deposit has been paid, this is non-refundable but will be credited toward a future booking if more than 48 hours notice is given.

do you charge extra for additional pets?

No way! No extra charges!

will my dogs always be walked by the same person?

While we cannot guarantee your dog will always be walked by the same person due to potential scheduling conflicts, we will do our best to schedule a regular walker. If an unfamiliar walker is assigned to walk your dog(s) we will do our best to arrange for them to meet with your pets and a familiar walker first!
You will be notified if schedule changes affect your dog(s).

do you do visits on weekends or evenings?

Absolutely! We customise our plans to suit your needs.
These bookings should be scheduled with as much advanced notice as possible to ensure our availability.

I only need services every once in a while. Can you still help?

Of course. Just contact us as soon as possible so that we can make sure there is a place for your pet(s) in our schedule. If you are a first time client you will also need to be sure to give us time to schedule a Meet & Greet prior to your scheduled visits.

what payment methods are there?

At this time we will accept cash, direct deposit, bank transfer, major credit cards & PayPal. Payments must be submitted to us on or before the first day of service. During the meet and greet we will go over the option that is best for you and your family.
